My name is Caroline, I am a native French speaker and a qualified teacher with 20 years experience.
APPROACH
The first lesson will start with a discussion that will allow me to understand your personality and wishes, and identify your "learner profile". I will then tailor the course to suit your needs, drawing on a wide range of methods, always striving to make the lessons enjoyable.
PERSONALITY
You can count on my patience and friendliness. I am definitely people focused and love my job; it gives me the opportunity to meet a variety of people, of all ages and interests, and to help them in something I believe to be very important.
I am myself a person who has a great curiosity, who is passionate about learning languages and many other topics.
I am also professionally committed and will always keep focused on the goals I will have set with you.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
With a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Honours) and Masters in Teaching (French language) in my pocket, I began my professional life in Ireland in 2004, as a private tutor. Back in my native country, Belgium, I taught French to adult migrants at government-funded training centre and I provided academic support to migrant secondary students through an NGO. In late 2007, I set off for Granada, Spain, where I taught for local private language schools before opening my own school, "¡Aprende Francés Ya!" that would unite professionalism with a friendly and personalised touch.
In Melbourne (2013-2017), I both worked at PEGS (Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School) and Monash University. In PEGS I prepared year twelve students for their oral exams. I can boast a 100% success rate for her students, 21 % of whom received a score of 40 or higher. At Monash University I worked as a tutor and examiner.
I came back to Spain in 2017 to make my school grow. In March 2020, to adapt to lockdowns, I conducted the transition of the school's teaching programs from face-to-face to online. After discovering the amazing range of pedagogical tools online, I decided to focus on this methodology. I am now developing new online programmes for J'adore le French with students from Europe and Australia.
